As the Pitz family was seeking a place to call home in 1977 near the beautiful Southern California coastline, the "Hippie Mafia" of Laguna Beach was finally starting to break-up after the long drug bust of the "Brotherhood of Eternal Love” (This was a commune started by John Griggs and further run by the infamous Timothy Leary). They had an overwhelming number of followers with a spiritual calling to drop "Orange Sunshine." The Pitz family, of Belgian-Canadian decent, stumbled upon a restaurant named "Dizz's" that was being sold by a couple who were affected by taking too many hallucinogenics; this made them feel dizzy. Therefore, the beloved 1900’s bungalow got its name. After the restaurant was purchased, Monique Pitz came to treasure the mixed-matched dishes left behind and used them to serve up fabulous continental cuisine. The term "As Is" was added to the title and the name “Dizz’s As Is” was coined.

We pride on our customers that flock to DIZZ's from San Francisco during their weekend get-a-ways and we want to give credit to this amazing dish for bringing them back. They love our rack of lamb that's rubbed with rosemary and garlic, baked, lightly breaded and served over an au jus sauce. Yum!
