Just Like Home

As the Pitz family was seeking a place to call home in 1977 near the beautiful Southern California coastline, the "Hippie Mafia" of Laguna Beach was finally starting to break-up after the long drug bust of the "Brotherhood of Eternal Love” (This was a commune started by John Griggs and further run by the infamous Timothy Leary). They had an overwhelming number of followers with a spiritual calling to drop "Orange Sunshine." The Pitz family, of Belgian-Canadian decent, stumbled upon a restaurant named "Dizz's" that was being sold by a couple who were affected by taking too many hallucinogenics; this made them feel dizzy. Therefore, the beloved 1900’s bungalow got its name. After the restaurant was purchased, Monique Pitz came to treasure the mixed-matched dishes left behind and used them to serve up fabulous continental cuisine. The term "As Is" was added to the title and the name “Dizz’s As Is” was coined.

Dizz's As Is

Here our guests arrive at a quaint wooden-shingled house of the 1920's. Step past a wooden gate and you are in a flower-filled garden enjoying cocktails, fine wines and scrumptious appetizers. Walk a few more steps and the french doors meet you, leading you into the parlor. Look around to find photos of film stars and unusual antiques. Join us as you take a seat to dine on such delicacies as generous filet mignons, giant tiger prawns and the freshest of fish!

"Dizz's easily ranks among the best of the West.....reflects Laguna's laid back air...but the polish is unmistakable!"

If you are curious about where locals come to eat while visiting Laguna then you probably want to wonder into this family owned restaurant’s French doors where a portal opens up to a world of artist, musicians and canyon success conversing over an impressive array of Belgium cuisine. The salmon covered walls surrounded by antiques--fit for a museum-- will assure you that you’re in for a unique experience, especially when being greeted with complimentary vermouth with a lemon twist and chicken pate which comes with every dinner order.
